===== Aromatherapy ===== I recently called a friend of mine in desperate search of costmary. She generously gave me several large leaves which she’d harvested from the plants in her garden. Costmary is a unique herb with a unique scent. In her monumental work, //A Modern Herbal//, M. Grieve describes costmary’s fragrance as being softly balsamic, whereas to me this herb is warmly mint-like, not as cool as peppermint but with the same basic scent. It is quite agreeable. I’ve never seen the dried herb for sale, but the plants can be obtained through mail-order nurseries (see Appendix II). Sniff the leaves to awaken your conscious mind. The fragrance, so refreshing and clean, clears away mental fatigue, giving you a fresh start. Additionally, smell costmary to calm raging emotions of all kinds-anger, fear, hatred, jealousy, obsessive love, pride and all those other wonderful feelings that tell us we’re alive. Or, smell the scent of costmary leaves to purify your inner self. Visualize it washing you clean.
