===== Magical Uses ===== Take a fresh lime, pierce it with old iron nails, spikes, pins, and needles, and throw it into a deep hole in the ground. This will rid you of all ills, hexes, and so on. Wear a necklace of limes to cure a sore throat. Lime peel is used in love mixtures and incenses. To cure a toothache, drive a nail into the trunk of a lime tree (but thank the lime tree first before you do so). Twigs of the lime tree protect against the evil eye when carried. ===== Aromatherapy ===== The true essential oil captures the pungent citrus scent of the fruit. To use the zest, grate off the colored portion of a ripe lime, enclose in a thin cloth and squeeze just before inhaling. The scent of lime is curiously similar to and yet so different from that of lemon. It is full-bodied, sharper and possesses a curious tweak that makes it instantly recognizable to anyone who’s ever smelled the fresh fruit or peelings. Like all citrusy scents, it is effective in personal purification. The powerful aroma (ruled by the Sun) also energizes and revitalizes the body. It can be used, with the appropriate visualizations, for personal protection.
