===== Magical Uses ===== Plumeria flowers are used in love spells. ===== Aromatherapy ===== The plumeria, native to Mexico, was apparently utilized by the ancient Aztecs in drinks which combatted fear and faintheartedness. If so, this was an extraordinary practice, for the milky sap of the plant is poisonous. This tree, so at home in the deserts of Mexico, has been extensively planted in Hawaii and the islands of the South Pacific. It is the favorite lei flower. The scent of plumeria flowers differs from one hybrid to another (there are dozens of forms). However, it commonly has a sweet, lemony fragrance that isn’t cloying. The aroma can be used with visualization to vanquish fear and depression. This promotes a peaceful attitude. Additionally, its fragrance is used to manifest loving relationships. If you pick the flowers, wipe off the milky sap that accumulates at the base of the blooms. Unfortunately, no true plumeria essential oil is available, but plants can be found in some nurseries and by mail.
