===== Aromatherapy ===== This plant is native to Mexico. Under the name of //omixochitl//, it was used by the Aztec herbalists for treating various complaints. //Omixochitl// means “bone-flower,” from the whiteness of its flowers that, to them, must have resembled bones. True tuberose essential oil is produced by //enfleurage//, the most expensive method. This substance is costly and rarely available at the retail level. It is used in such cosmetic perfumes as White Shoulders. This plant’s flowers are similar to jasmine in that they continue to produce scent even after being picked The fragrance is much stronger at night than during the day. Because of this, tuberose is known in India as //rat ki rani// (mistress of the night). he waxy, white blooms are intensely fragrant, sweet but not cloying. The cut flowers are available in florist shops on the West Coast and are apparently gaining in popularity. The bulbs may be purchased from nurseries and cultivated for their blooms. Like many people, my first run-in with this plant was in the Honolulu International Airport, where thousands of tuberose leis are given to arriving tourists. The scent is so strong that it permeates the air there. The scent of fresh tuberose stills raging passions, calms and soothes the emotions. Smell the flowers to gain control. With visualization, the aroma of tuberose invites love into your life or expands the love you’re already enjoying.
