===== Aromatherapy ===== In his recent book (*Aromatherapy for Everyone*), Robert Tisserand recorded an alleged instance in which the aroma of ylang-ylang essential oil calmed a vicious dog seconds before it attacked a man. The flowers from which ylang-ylang essential oil is produced are as exotic as their name and scent. The tree is grown far away on sun-drenched islands such as the Philippines, Java and Sumatra. A few trees may be seen growing in Florida and Hawaii. Ylang-ylang is a soothing scent. Wear it or inhale its aroma prior to all nerve-wracking situations such as job interviews. Smell its sweet, incredible fragrance. Simultaneously, breathe in its soothing energies and visualize them doing their work. You’ll get through just fine. The fragrance also calms anger and all negative emotional states, transforming such energy into more positive manifestations. It inclines to rest, comfort, and sleep. With proper visualization it is also a powerful, true aphrodisiac, creating sexual desire. As with all essential oils of this kind, sniff the fragrance with specific visualization. Ylang-ylang is exceptionally helpful in overcoming sexual problems. Ylang-ylang is also used for love. Patricia Davis, in her excellent //Aromatherapy: An A-Z//, writes that inhaling this essential oil for long periods of time can produce headache and/or nausea. I’ve never found this to be true but perhaps I know when to stop.
